We are excited to publish Tiana Knight’s guest contribution about her experience as a law student navigating the legal world “blind” (literally!). Her recounting of how she has found her own unique path to practising law is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Tiana is a University of Calgary Faculty of Law 2017 JD graduate, which she earned with the help of her support dog Cashmere (who is also pictured on the wall as a Class of 2017 graduate). After her Alberta Bar Call, Tiana co-founded Knight Molly Patrick LLP in 2018, alongside two of her law school friends, James Molly and Sarah Patrick. In her busy practice her current support dog LouLou assists her in meeting her clients’ needs in criminal, family, and Wills preparation matters. She is an avid volunteer and provides volunteer legal services for Calgary Legal Guidance and peer support for Lawyers’ ASSIST. Additionally, she enjoys keeping active: she has competed nationally and internationally in the Paralympic sport of goalball.
