About Us

The Moot Times was founded in 2008 by a group of UCalgary Law students who, we assume, were interested in bringing voices together to express themselves amongst our peers. Over the years this publication’s content has ebbed and flowed, but it has always entertained.

When the global pandemic struck in 2020, our current Editor-in-Chief saw an opportunity to reimagine our little ‘zine. We are “by students, for students” with a new emphasis on the latter. We can’t wait to show you our new look, feel, content, and purpose. The Moot Times now has a dedicated editorial and leadership team, and an excellent mix of contributors, who work hard to empower each and every voice at Murray Fraser Hall.

Mission

The Moot Times' mission is to be the voice of Calgary’s future legal profession. We aim to inspire through the power of communication.

2021-2022

We have a lot of projects on the horizon and we are only just beginning! We value all our friends and partners in Calgary’s legal community, and the best way we can show this is through our actions: the voices we amplify, and the connections we facilitate. This is the “year of partnerships” for The Moot Times.
