Red Velvet Brownies


Red Velvet Brownies:

  • ½ cup butter (room temperature)

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 ¼ cups flour

  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 2 tbsp red food coloring

White Chocolate Icing:

  • 1 stick of butter (room temperature)

  • 2 ½ cups powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 4 ounces melted white chocolate

  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (or more depending on desired consistency)


Red Velvet Brownies:

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease an 8x8 pan.

  2. In a bowl, combine cocoa powder, red food coloring, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to create a paste.

  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then add the remaining teaspoon of vanilla.

  4. While mixing on medium speed, add in cocoa powder mixture. Beat until the batter is red.

  5. Add flour and salt, mixing until just combined.

  6. Spread in pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.

White Chocolate Icing:

  1. Cream butter with an electric mixer until fluffy, then add vanilla.

  2. Slowly add in powdered sugar ½ cup at a time with the mixer on low speed.

  3. Added in melted white chocolate.

  4. Add in milk 1 teaspoon at a time with the mixer on low speed until desired consistency is reached.
